Journal Selection Dashboard (JSD)¶
Overview¶
The Journal Selection Dashboard (JSD) helps users identify the best publication strategies and journals by analyzing journal performance metrics within client-specified research or therapeutic areas (TAs). The dashboard enables users to filter and prioritize journals based on objective performance metrics, including Open Access percentages, journal specialization, average citation impact, and the annual volume of TA-specific research.
The JSD also supports comparative analysis of selected journals across dimensions such as institutional collaboration types, clinical study characteristics (e.g. trial phase and study type), and public engagement metrics like news and social media mentions. By benchmarking all data against publications similar to those in the selected TA, the dashboard provides a standardized, evidence-based framework for selecting the most relevant journals for future research dissemination.
Digital Science will configure a JSD dashboard for your use, based on Altmetric and Dimensions data, to provide rapid insights and analytics on scientific literature related to a set of therapeutic areas of interest to you.
Scope of the Basic Configuration Service¶
The basic configuration service covers the following activities:
Search strategy configuration¶
Configuration supports up to 10 search strategies, which will identify the publications of interest to you. These search strategies represent the focus areas (or therapeutic areas) listed and selectable in the dashboard.
Customer inputs required¶
For each report focus area described above, you must provide a detailed description and, optionally, literature search terms and synonyms to be included in the search.
The configuration includes up to 1 iteration per search strategy, based on your feedback.
Timeline¶
Configuration will be completed within 60 calendar days of you providing the required data above.
Project Management During Configuration¶
While configuration is ongoing, project management support may include:
- A kick-off meeting within two weeks of signing
- Two project-specific meetings to discuss search strategies
- A primary point of contact who will lead communications, schedule meetings, and coordinate delivery of the project
Out of Scope
Modifications to, or new or additional, visualisations, metrics, and/or other non-standard requirements are out of scope of this configuration service.
