Dimensions GRID¶

This page contains information about the Dimensions GRID data source in the Altmetric BigQuery project.

Note: the organizations data type is present in the table named dim_publications (within the normal data dataset where other data types are present).

Dimensions GRID Schema¶

Field	Type	Description
`acronyms`	Array of < String >	A list of short acronyms the institute is known as (e.g. MRC for the Medical Research Council)
`address`	Address	Address associated with the institute.
`aliases`	Array of < String >	A list of other names the institute is known as.
`closed`	Integer	If the organization has closed, the year when it was closed.
`email_address`	String	A contact email address for the institute.
`established`	Integer Partitioning field	Year when the organization was estabilished
`external_ids`	ExternalIdentifierSet	Other IDs known to refer to the institute.
`id`	String Clustering field	GRID ID of the organization. E.g., “grid.26999.3d”.
`labels`	Array of < Label >	The name of the institute in different languages.
`links`	Array of < String >	URLs linking to things such as the homepage of the institute.
`name`	String	GRID name of the organization. E.g., “University of Tokyo” for grid.26999.3d
`organization_child_ids`	Array of < String >	Child organization IDs.
`organization_parent_ids`	Array of < String >	Parent organization IDs.
`organization_recursive_child_ids`	Array of < String >	Child organization IDs, recursively resolved using the record as the root of the resolved hierarchy.
`organization_related_ids`	Array of < String >	Related organization IDs.
`redirect`	String	GRID identifier where a redirected organization now points to.
`relationships`	Array of < Relationship >	Any relationships the institute has to others.
`status`	String	For an active institute, this is always set to “active”.
`types`	Array of < String >	Type of an organization Eg. “Company”, “Education”, “Government” etc.
`wikipedia_url`	String	URL of the wikipedia page for the institute.

`country_code`	String	The ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code of the country.
`country_geonames_id`	Integer	The GeoNames ID of the country.

`latitude`	Float	Latitute of the institute.
`line_1`	String	First line of the address.
`line_2`	String	Second line of the address.
`line_3`	String	Third line of the address.
`longitude`	Float	Longitude of the institute.
`postcode`	String	The postcode/zipcode.
`state`	String	The name of the state/region.
`state_code`	String	The ISO 3166-2 region code.
